The Colortronic Voludrive C50 is a microprocessor-based controller used to operate volumetric feeders in continuous and batch applications. Voludrive makes the operation of any DC driven feeder easy. Functions such as calibration, total mass flow, instantaneous mass, motor speed, current percent are built in to the unit. The operator simply calibrates the unit, enters the desired mass flow, and starts the unit.

To maintain precise control of variable speed DC motors, the Voludrive utilizes pulse width modulation technology. This technology keeps the motor torque constant over the entire speed range. The drive operates with a built-in quartz clock and digital control circuit that is directly tied into the encoder speed feedback from the dosing motor. This architecture enables the motor speed setpoint to be maintained to an accuracy of one RPM.  Inputs are made using a rugged keypad. All operating conditions are displayed via easy to read symbols.
